The Best Vanilla Salted Caramel Cupcakes

Soft, moist and scrumptious Vanilla Cupcakes filled with Salted Caramel, topped with Swiss Meringue Buttercream and finished with even more Caramel. The best cupcakes you can make at home!

For the Cupcakes
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk
For the Salted Caramel Sauce
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • For the Swiss Meringue Buttercream
  • 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 5 large egg whites
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
